Up From the Grave He Arose!!

Happy Easter!

Even though I know it's a few days after the fact, but who says we can't still celebrate? We had a wonderful Easter weekend and I don't think there's any better way to celebrate Christ than being with the family he's blessed us with! We were so excited to have Momma Shelly and PaPa Kelly come down and visit us for the weekend. Dad, Kyler, and Jason spent the weekend working hard on our backyard project...the pergola...and Mom and I hung out with Mollie and did a little shopping and a little cooking. Then Sunday, we went to church and had Easter lunch with Grammie and PaPa and the fam, then dinner with Pop Pop and Nanny...whew!! Poor Mollie was exhausted by the end of the day, but sure enjoyed her first Easter.

Here's the oh-so-handsome cousin Maddox and Aunt Lacye

Here's Mollie sporting her Easter dress and her jumping skills!

Now that we have a little one around, it means even more to us to make sure we're teaching her the "true" meaning of things (Such as Easter, Christmas, and so on...) Even though Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny are super fun for a kid, I sure do long for her to know how much God loves her and what He did for her and why we celebrate it. I hope we can be successful at that.

On another note, Mollie has mastered the smile! It's been SO much fun watching her smile and coo at us and at her toys. She seems to be such a happy kid and it makes me happy to know she's happy. Even though she's been quite content since the moment she arrived in this world, she has experienced some painful refulx. This resulted in her screaming in pain (out of the blue at times), arching her back, having some nasty spit up, and not being able to lay flat on her back for very long. Her doctor prescribed some medicine and it seems to be doing the trick! I'm glad she doesn't have to live with that for too long! Also while we were at the doctor, she weighed in at 9 lbs 11 oz and 21.5 in. long, which is about in the 15-20th percentile. Though her head circumference was in the 75th percentile! Yikes! She looks rather proportionate to me, though...guess that means her little brain is developing faster than the rest of her :o) Here are some pictures of her sweet little smile...

Her first smile was at her daddy! I'm so glad we had the camera nearby!

Here's Mollie smiling at Momma Shelly on Easter! So stinking cute!

On a final note, we do have a few prayer requests this time around. We just found out Jason's Granny is in the hospital. She's had some problems with her stomach in the past and it looks like that's what's happening this time around. Prayers for her to be healed, to feel better, and strength for those that will need to care for her and be with her while she's ill...
Also, most of you know this by now but our friend Dustin was in an accident where he was pinned between a truck and a house...he's been in the hospital for several weeks, isn't feeling well at all, and has had to go through several procedures. His situation is a bit unique and the doctors aren't quite sure how to help him, so they're taking things one day at a time! You can check out all the details on their blog (the link is to the left...it's Kate and Dustin Wallace) Prayers for continued strength for them and their family and wisdom for the doctors as they figure out the best way to help him.
And another one...our friend Amy Hyatt's father had a heart attack the other day and is having quite a rough time. She posted some hopeful news today, though, so hopefully all will be well with him. God is the Great Physician and miracles can be done!

To end with, Jason reminded me of a great song that sums up the meaning of Easter taken from Mark 16...
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
